| October 29th, 2006 | Searching For Jobs |
My Hamada has been here for seven weeks now and except for not finding a job everything is fine. I have to say this job searching is not easy and is very tiring, we have sent a few applications some have replied some haven’t bothered. He went for an interview at a nearby hotel they said they wanted a receptionist which he could have been trained up for. They said they would call him the next day but they didn’t which i think is rude. Hamada applied for a job as a police community support officer he studied hard for it but unfortunately because of his visa they couldn’t further his application, he was very upset about that. This weekend we have been looking at the job centre plus web site and have written some addresses from the yellow pages to send his cv to. Yesterday my sister Hazel came with two of my nieces, Ashleigh who is the eldest and Nicola the youngest, the middle one Kirsty was out with her friends. They couldn’t stay late but came with my belated birthday presents, all of which were very nice. It was very nice to see them and they met Hamada for the first time, it went very well and i think he was happy as they talked about jobs and the police as Ashleigh has applied for the same as Hamada did. Nicola has come on so much and gone so much taller she didn’t have her sparring partner so was quiet and happy to have a hug and cuddle. Posted in General | No Comments »

| October 8th, 2006 | Dinner At Jean And Robs |
Last night we went to my friend Jeans house for dinner, her husband Rob picked us up at 6.45pm, we had beef in ale and roast vegetables and she made curry and rice for Hamada, which i thought was very nice of her, then we had bananna pie and cream, phew as usual i was well stuffed. I took a bottle of wine and Jean and me shared that and i had a couple of small vodkas. We chatted about all things Egyptian and English so i was glad Hamada had anothers perspective on his life and living here. We stayed ’til bout 11pm then Rob drove us back home. | October 8th, 2006 | Looking For Jobs |
Well Hamada has been here for a month now, the time has gone fairly quickly as i am kept busy with going to work then helping Hamada look for jobs and filling in forms when i get home, so it’s very tiring and i have had very little time for myself. Hamada did surprise me one day by going into the police station and asking about joining the police force, they gave him a phone number to call and we took their advice of trying for job as a police community support officer. So we filled in the application when it arrived and tomorrow he is to attend a seminar. Posted in General | No Comments »
