December 28th, 2008 Works Christmas Party

I needed a sleep after work I was so tired so went to bed for a couple of hours when i got home. The girls picked me up about 8pm and we took the taxi into town, we were all meeting up at the Philharmonic. We just had the one drink then went round to the Haigh Bar where the party was being held, we weren’t having it at the Adelphi this year which was a bit of a let down. There were no seats for us so some of the girls dragged dome of the sofas from the other side for us to sit while Mo and me got the drinks. There were no decorations, hats, crackers, no wine on the table like all the other years at the Adelphi, so really there was no atmosphere. The only good thing was I got to see my friend Elaine, we keep in touch by phone and email but I hadn’t seen her, she’d been diagnosed with Hodgekins so had been having chemotherapy. We had plenty of free drinks and a good dance, so that was fun, then the down side at the end of the night, being a bar we had to wait outside in the teeming rain, that wouldn’t have happened had we been in the Adelphi.
