The Monday and Tuesday we were worried about our flights as the volcanic ash from Iceland had erupted again. I was working the Wednesday morning as we weren’t flying ’til later in the afternoon, I got a taxi to take me to work with my luggage. Elaine was texting me throughout the morning to keep me informed of any changes, luckily for us we weren’t affected by it. I finished work at 1:15pm and got a taxi to Liverpool airport where I met Elaine, we were so excited, it was great. We checked in and went through security, Elaine was laughing her socks off because I was frisked and then had my bag checked and swabbed for drugs. We bought a bottle of Baileys to share at the airport lounge while we waited boarding to wait boarding. Our flight was on time and without problems, I had a sleep, we’d bought neck pillows, the difference that made for comfort was great, wish I’d got one before. We had a taxi bus transfer to take us from the airport to our hotel which was great except I had some bloke snorting like a pig all the way, he was gross and made me feel sick, how his wife put up with that, I’d have to smack him, yuk……… We arrived at the hotel about 8:30pm, in time for dinner, we thought the food ok and plenty of choice, I was so thirsty more than anything. After dinner we went to our room, we were very pleased, it was lovely and spacious. We went to find a shop to buy some drinks, we found a garage so Elaine got some wine and I got vodka and went back to our room. We had a couple of drinks and chatted for a while, it was lovely and so peaceful, with no skanky neighbours, bliss Thursday) We slept ’til about 8am and went down for breakfast about 8:30, which consisted of the usual bacon, sausage, eggs etc, creal and salads and fruit. After breakfast we went outside to the pool area it was sunny but the wind was cold, I was worried we were going to be cold. Thankfully it warmed up later so we could stay by the pool, the beach is right in front, we just had to open a gate go down a few steps and we were on it, I was very pleased about that. I am happy too because Elaine is over the moon with everything. Dinner was lovely, I had chicken and mixed rice, in the night we went to Linekers bar, it was great and only round the corner from where we were staying, Friday) I woke with a bit of hangover, I had no idea what time we came home, don’t really care, Elaine said it was about 4/5am. We went for breakfast then as it’s still cold in the morning went back to bed for a couple hours. We had a couple hours on the beach in the afternoon, I was so glad we right on the beach. Then got ready to go for our evening meal, we were very excited as to what was going to be on the menu and we weren’t disappointed. I had asparagus soup, there was beef, pork, fish, garlic cauliflower and potatoes. In the evening we went to a very nice bar on the beach it was raining a little so we went back to the hotel for an umbrella, which they lent us, then had another all nighter at Linekers. Saturday) We got up for breakfast then went back to bed for a sleep, in the afternoon we went to the beach, Elaine’s not so keen, she can’t get comfy, I love it and can sleep anywhere. Dinner was lovely again, paella, garlic chicken, pork kebabs, and the usual array of sweets and fruit, I stuck more to the ice cream, I found it more refreshing. After dinner we went up the West end, we had a few drinks in a fun pub, then the Irish bar opposite then finished off at Linekers. Sunday) We missed breakfast, didn’t wake ’til 11am so went to a bar across the road, We stayed by the pool today. Dinner I had some soup, pork and salmon, but I didn’t enjoy too much because my stomach was a bit jippy. This has happened on my last few holidays, I’m ok for a few days then I feel ill for a few days, it’s very annoying and depressing. In the evening we went up the west end again, we dodged the fun pub and slid into the irish bar a scottish bar, then went to Itacar which was next to Linekers. Monday) We got up in time for breakfast, it was a cloudy morning, my stomach was feeling really bad so went back to bed ’til 2:30pm. Couldn’t believe how hot it had gone, we went for a snack, Elaine wanted to shop for souvenirs I’d rather have been sunbathing and shopped in the evening. We had a quiet night at Linekers, not many people out so we had an early night, about 1am and I felt better for it. Tuesday) Enjoyed my breakfast, my stomach feels better today thankfully. Enjoyed all day on the beach, I even had a swim, the sea was freezing but exhilarating, made my body feel really alive, I loved it and had missed so much. Dinner I had pork and saute potatoes. Linekers was quiet again, Elaine didn’t feel so good so we only had a couple of drinks and took some fries back to our room. We had to be ready to pack and vacate the room by 12 the next day. Wednesday) We went for breakfast then got our cases ready to leave in the luggage room. Elaine went for a wander and I sunbathed by the pool for a few hours, then showered and got ready to go eat, we had a nice steak and fries at nice bar up the west end. The weather has got really hot now this last couple of days I wish we had another week. Our taxi transfer to the airport was late, the flight was delayed 3 hours because of the volcanish. We had a nice meal at the airport and shared a bottle of Baileys. Once we were in the air the flight was good, Elaines husband picked us up about 1:30am so it was about 1:45am when I got home, unfortunately I had to be up at 6am, unfortunately the goons in the flat below me were up and arguing, I shouldn’t have been surprised, I think it was about 3:30am when I got to sleep so I was shattered when the alarm went off for work….. | June 27th, 2010 | New Laptop |
The display on the monitor of my last laptop broke, I couldn’t see anything, it was awful. I thought it could be repaired but the cost was nearly as much as a new one, that was ridiculous. So I was without for a few weeks, my brother asked around to see what was the best to go for, this time I got one from Amazon and only had to wait a couple of days for delivery. So now it’s catch up time again on what’s been happening ……………. Posted in General | No Comments »

| May 3rd, 2010 | Easter Weekend xx |
Friday afternoon my niece Ashleigh came with her boyfriend Mike, they got the ferry over and then cycled from the Pier Head to the Brittannia, unfortunately it rained so the got soaked poor loves. We had a carvery which was very nice, unfortunately they had to leave soon after to get the ferry back. In the evening my friend Elaine came for tea and a few drinks. We had a blast playing tunes, chatting and drinking and most of all the best the trolls weren’t home. Saturday, Sunday, Monday was great just chilling no work I went after to work reception after my morning job Wednesday afternoon. Saturday and Sunday it was my turn for overtime in the LRC. On Monday 12th I went for my hospital check up, I feel a lot better getting some issues resolved. Claire came to see me from the housing Tuesday afternoon, the evening I had to put up with the trolls rowdy behaviour and graced with his singing and twanging on the guitar. On Saturday it was my turn for overtime in Holmfield. I was looking forward after working the last 2 weekends to a sleep in but it wasn’t to be, the goon below was in and out like a blue assed fly banging and slamming the doors as he went. I worked reception Wednesday afternoon to cover while Elaine was on a course. Posted in General | No Comments »

| April 17th, 2010 | Playing Catch Up xx |
After what seems to have been a long, stressful winter I’m playing catch up again . . . . . . . . . January was a horrible month with the neighbours from hell, the last week in particular I had to put up with them every night it was awful. They didn’t seem to be around much in February, I’m assuming by one of the arguments that there was a problem with a male relative, maybe her dad, all i can say is for me it was blissful relief. In February I also had my nieces 18th birthday, she wasn’t having a party though so my sister arranged for everyone to meet for a meal at the central hotel. I enjoyed a steak the only down side was that I had to leave early to get the train home so I couldn’t really relax. On tuesday 16th and wednesday 17th March I had to call the police again because of the fighting and shouting going on from them below again. It’s beyond a joke and beyond me and I’m sick to the back teeth of it. I later learned he’d been arrested on the tuesday/wednesday morning so couldn’t believe they’d fought again on the wednesday evening, mind you nothing from them should surprise me. March 30th I was awarded an injunction against him and anyone else he allows to do anything toward me. I went out with my friend Elaine for lunch and a few drinks, we had the steak with a peppercorn sauce. Elaines mum and dad came a little after, she’d arranged to meet them, her dad very kindly paid for our meal. Her mum and dad went home about 3pm, Elaine and me were going to go shopping but we’d had too much to drink to go so we stayed in the pub ;D . . . . . . We left about 8pm and had some fish & chips then got a taxi home to mine. Elaines husband came for her about 10:30/11pm. We had a great day/ night Posted in General | No Comments »

| February 7th, 2010 | January |
We returned to work on the 4th january, by wednesday there was lots of snow and only a few of us turned in so were allowed to go home early, then we learnt they were closing the buildings ’til the following monday 11th, whoohoo!! The following week the snow came again so I bought a ticket and bussed it to work, it was too treacherous for me walking. I went out for a pub meal with Elaine on the 20th, my first social outing since christmas. I thought it was just her and me and a couple of friends, so did she but there was about 14 of us so it was a fest haha. We had the gammon to eat, I was ravenous by the time we got it because we had to wait for everyone else to come. Elaines husband took me home, it was after 12, don’t know how I got up for work the next morning. Posted in General | No Comments »

| February 7th, 2010 | Hello Everyone, Happy 2010 xxx |
Sorry I’m playing catch up again, It feels likes I’ve been tired forever and a day but making an effort this afternoon to update …. We had our work dept’s christmas party the friday before christmas, it was a long day I’d done my days work then worked on reception in the afternoon. We had the party at the adelphi which we were pleased about, but some things weren’t as good as the other times there. I didn’t think the food was as good this year, there was no wine on the tables, and there was a definite them and us. Most from our team said they weren’t going again. We finished work for the holiday on the 23rd yippeeeee! I went to meet my friend Elaine and some others from her work dept in town for drinks and a meal. It had been snowing so was a bit slippery underfoot so i had to wear boots instead of shoes. I met them in one of the pubs, we had a few drinks then left about 3pm to go for the meal we were having italian. Afterwards we went back to the pub, we stayed there a while then Elaine and me moved on to another pub, it was snowing again and made the city look like a victorian christmas card, it was lovely. Elaines husband came to pick us up, a great day was had by all I woke up feeling terrible christmas eve, my throat felt raw and my voice was hoarse. Then to top things off the tenant below me’s girl friend kicked off, it was no surprise. Christmas day was more of the same, she didn’t shut up all day, I heard him telling her to shut up, you can’t hear anyone else only you!! That’s how it is, you don’t hear anything or anyone just her filthy common mouth. Boxing day I went to my sister Hazel’s, I felt terrible, only for the occassion I would’ve stayed in bed. We had a nice roast dinner, I was disappointed I didn’t have much appetite so didn’t get to enjoy any goodies. I stayed the night at David and Sarah’s, they took me home about 6pm the next day and I went straight to bed and stayed there for the next 3 days. I had no appetite and couldn’t put my head down it felt like I’d a brick in my forehead. My new year was no better, I still felt unwell I wasn’t going anywhere and hey ho had to listen to the tenant below’s girlfriend rantings again!!!!!!! Posted in General | No Comments »

| December 7th, 2009 | Poland, 9-18th November 2009 |
Mon) My flight was at 7am so I had to be up about 4am ….. when I woke I was in agony, my arms, shoulders and neck, I couldn’t move and pains in my legs. I had a good flight without any problems and arrived in Krakow about 11:15, my taxi was there when I came through to take me to my apt. When I got there I was told by the office staff my apt was still occupied and was asked to accept another or take one in the main sq. I refused, if I’d wanted the other apt I’d have reserved that one and I wasn’t moving to the main sq and so incur more travel costs by having to take taxis to commute there and back to the dental clinic. So they asked would I accept my first night in the other apt for free and move me the next day, which was fine by me. They rang the clinic for me to see when I should go, an appt was made for 8pm. I’d had a long day and unfortunately fell asleep and didn’t wake ’til 9pm, I ran to the clinic, but it was ok, he’s never been on time. I had an x ray and arranged a treatment plan. Tues) I woke about 8am and got my belongings together to move to my apt, I am happy now. I went to the dental at 2pm, they cleaned my teeth, that took about an hour then I went back to my apt, I fell asleep and woke just in time to return to the dental at 6pm. I had a filling first then waited an hour and then had 2 root canals, I was in agony, my face and body ached. It was after 10pm when they finished I was tired and felt drugged, probably all the anaesthetic. Wednesday) Independance Day, so everywhere is closed. I slept late then had a long soak in the bath and some pampering. I went on the computer for a while, had some lunch then slept for hours, it was about 9:15pm when I woke. Thurs) I went to the dental at 10am, I waited 45mins, I had 4 teeth prep’d for crowns, the anaesthetic was agony and literally made my toes curl and me cry. I was there ’til 2:30pm what an ordeal, I could’ve had a break but I just wanted to get it over with. Now I can only eat soft white cheese and yoghurt. Fri) It was a very nice sunny day, after raining every day it was a pleasant surprise, but I was pleased it wasn’t as cold as I was expecting it to be. I really thought I’d be freezing after my last visit in the March it was so cold and when Mo had been around the same time the previous year it was snowing. I onlyt had to go for a check up today. The weekend I am free …… Saturday was a nice sunny day again so I went to see the main sq for the first time. It’s very nice and pretty there but was unfortunately blighted by I think it was the museum in the middle of the sq being surrounded by scaffolding Mon) My crowns weren’t ready, so I can still only eat cheese and yoghurt, I was so hungry and needed a proper meal Tues) I went to the dental but my crowns weren’t ready ’til the evening, Dr Artur was too busy to fit them too, I was a bit put out about that but the younger dentist who’d done my fillings fitted them, and as he’d treated me previously I was ok with that. They were beautiful, I was so pleased with the end result. Wed) I had to be up early for my flight home which was good as there was no hanging around, up and out. I arrived home about 2:15pm. | November 7th, 2009 | My Brothers Wedding 31st October 2009 |
I met my friend Elaine in town after work Friday afternoon, we were getting the bus to the Premier Inn in Leasowe where we were staying until Sunday. We got there about 4pm, The receptionist Lynsey was very chatty and very nice. We went to our room and I bathed and changed, we were meeting David, Sarah and some others at the restaurant at 6:30pm. I’d ordered salmon in tagliatelle, it was nice but I was very disappointed. I was expecting chunks of salmon but could barely see it it was a few flakes, they were so mean with it. Elaine had roast chicken dinner, I think maybe I should’ve gone for the same. Elaine and I didn’t stay at the restaurant for long after the meal, there was an atmosphere which made me very uncomfortable and had I known wouldn’t have gone. We left and went back and had a few drinks in the bar at the hotel before retiring to bed. We got up to go for breakfast about 9am, then went to shower and get ready for 12 noon, Elaine helped me zip up and stuff I couldn’t manage. Lynsey on reception was again very nice and very complimentary, we got a taxi to Leasowe Castle and arrived about 12:15. Everyone was in the bar so we had a drink while we waited for the ceremony at 1pm. It was very nice and David got a little emotional, so I gave him a sister rub on the back. Afterwards we had photographs taken in the grounds, it was a nice day, with sun and blue sky. The dinner was lovely, melon to start then roast pork and meringue for dessert and drinks. Then the speeches, funny and touching. Then to the bar for more drinks, it was a lovely day and nice seeing my cousins again. David lent Elaine and I their Bridal room to change for the evening, which was nice of them, hehehe. Sunday, we had a lie in, we’d cancelled breakfast and got ready for lunch instead. We went in the bar at the hotel, we had mushrooms in breadcrumbs a 16oz steak which we couldn’t finish so had wrapped to take away. We stayed most of the afternoon, I had some vodkas and Elaine tried some different drinks. Then we got the bus back to Liverpool and had a few drinks in town….. We had a great weekend Posted in General | No Comments »
