May 21st, 2011 May….. Wondering and Hope xx

The first week I had two hospital appointments, my physio and tinnitus. I got my ear piece so here’s hoping……… I wonder about going on holiday, more so since I had to cancel last years trip away, I have all my clothes and everything else I need now I need the strength……

Thursday Ruth came to go for a meal, I suggested we went the Harvester for a change from the Indian Restaurant, as the previous visit had been awful, I’m not saying I wont go again but I don’t like to be made to feel uncomfortable.

The next week my friend Lynn came with our friend Joy we had a wander round Matalan clothes store +and did some grocery shopping, I was very tired after. We went for our tea at the Harvester, Joy had pasta and Lynn and I had chicken and baby ribs combo, again very filling I wish I could finish a meal without struggling.

On Thursday Ruth came, we went the supermarket and stocked up on bread for the ducks :D then went for a meal at the Harvester again, we ate from the salad buffet then I had baby ribs and prawns Ruth had a vegetarian pasta, onion rings and chips, I may even try that myself sometime.

May 21st, 2011 Hello Everyone!!!! xx

Omgsh, I’m in shock, I didn’t realise I hadn’t posted in so long. So now I’ll try and catch up on some of what’s been happening in my life, which looking back isn’t a great deal.

January; except for a very nice meal out with some friends, came and went as did February. However, I have been enjoying the company of my nieces, they’ve been visiting almost every week which has been lovely, having lunch and watching dvd’s, we’ve watched some really good films, which I’ve really enjoyed. I also saw my nephew for first time since Christmas, ahhh he’s so small and lovely, I was so happy to see him.

April; Monday 4th, I saw Neurologist, Tuesday 5th I started my physiotherapy for my shoulder impingement.Wednesday 6th I also saw my consultant Prof Fraser, now I’m not in work because of the problems I’m having he is referring me to the chronic fatigue syndrome team. I feel a sense of relief but also dread, I was hoping my problems were because of something else, something curable of course. Wednesday evening my sister Ruth came, we went for a meal at the nearby Indian Restaurant. I love it when she comes, it’s nice to get dolled up and we always have a good laugh and gossip.

The 11th I started my tinnitus therapy, my therapist ordered me a ear piece to wear so I’m hopeful, though it will take 6-18 months, the fact I’m now getting some help fills me with hope, after being told years ago I had to live with it.

The next week the weather was lovely, warm and sunny. Wednesday 20th was my friend Lynn’s birthday, so a few of us went the Harvester for a meal, it had been a lovely day and the sun was still shining so we sat outside ’til a table was free for us. We had a nice meal, free salad buffet which is a meal on it’s own then Lynn and I had the mixed grill, yummy but very filling, I couldn’t finish it. Thursday evening my sister Ruth came and we went for a meal at the Indian Restaurant, I can’t eat anything too hot, I had a tandoori chicken and korma sauce, Ruth has meat free dishes as she’s a vegetarian. I was enjoying it ’til some very loud customers came in, you know the kind that like the sound of their own voices, that think everyone’s interested in what they’re talking about. I couldn’t hear myself think let alone what Ruth was saying to me. We asked to move, which we did but then had the owner glaring at us, which made us feel very uncomfortable.

Friday 22nd was Good Friday, my nieces invited me for a meal at the Red Hot Buffet Restaurant, I had some salad then some chicken korma and dessert, all very nice and I was so full after.  That was a lovely week, good weather, good food and most of all good friends and family :D

The next week the duck had returned, this year I counted 16 babies, wow!! They’re gorgeous, so cute, there’s 14 now to date, I hope they survive. The mother’s brilliant I hope she can protect them against next doors cat.

January 7th, 2011 Happy New Year 2011 xxxx

I wonder what this year has in store for me???? One thing I hope for is an end to the pain, please xx

January 7th, 2011 December 2010

My new bed has been a god send, thanks to my friend Lynn helping me with all my shopping, don’t know what I’d have done without her.

5th of December Thomas, my brother David and wife Sarah’s son enters the world, he’s beautiful, even though I’d only seen him on photographs.

Christmas Day, I was alone and relaxing all was quiet ’til about 8pm fuelled by wine her below kicked off, the same argument, he doesn’t love me, you don’t love me. I shouted down to shut up!!! and turned the volume on my tv up to drown them out, but I was livid and my stress levels raised because of it. Thankfully it didn’t last too long but I’m angry the thought of another situation like previous occasions fills me with dread……

Boxing Day we all went to my sister Hazels, Ruth came to pick me up, but because of child birth problems David and Sarah couldn’t stay so only saw Thomas briefly, he’s so tiny and perfect. We had a nice time at Hazels, lots to eat and drink and I loved all my presents and they should and did too :) :) I stayed the night and spent the next day at Ruth and Doug’s.

January 7th, 2011 October/November 2010

26 October I learnt of the death of my long time friend Winnie, I’d known her and been cutting and dressing her hair half my life. Going every week or two I probably saw more of her than her family. I didn’t just dress her hair, we became friends  sometimes I’d be there 3/4 hours we’d drink tea and put the world to rights confiding our problems and she always made me something to eat, to keep me going ’til i got home as she’d say. I miss her, I attended her funeral the 9th November, I was very glad her son invited me.

January 7th, 2011 Catching Up, July 2010

Sorry I have not posted for over 6 months …………

1st July

After 6 months battling with problems with agonising pains in my legs I went to the doctor as I was now in agony in my privates, I’d never experienced pain like it and never want to again. She arranged for me to go into hospital for an mri scan I’d been waiting for so I was seen right away thankfully, the staff were marvellous. I was wheeled onto the ward in a bed, I was pretty scared and cried as I didn’t know what was wrong and felt very alone. I had an mri  scan on my lower back which was fine thankfully. The next day I had an ultra sound. I was in ’til the monday all they could do was give me pain-killers, my ultra sound showed up a small fibroid other than that everything was fine. I had to cancel my holiday as I was due to fly out the next day, I was gutted :( :(

I went home on the tuesday afternoon none the wiser as to the cause of my problems. I made an appointment to see my doctor, she gave me some back exercises to do, although  my back felt ok I still had problems in my legs and lower half. I had pain-killers but sometimes they made me feel dreadful, I felt so ill. I saw a different doctor but wasn’t happy I felt he was very complacent and had no understanding of my suffering so my next visit I asked to see a different doctor, she gave me some tablets to help the nerves in my body. I think they have helped with some of the pins and needles and numbness, but they put me to sleep and I’m groggy. So coupled with the pain-killers I’m mostly asleep. But I can’t sleep on my back or left side because of the horrendous pain.

June 27th, 2010 Ibiza 5-12 May

The Monday and Tuesday we were worried about our flights as the volcanic ash from Iceland had erupted again. I was working the Wednesday morning as we weren’t flying  ’til later in the afternoon, I got a taxi to take me to work with my luggage.  Elaine was texting me throughout the morning to keep me informed of any changes, luckily for us we weren’t affected by it. I finished work at 1:15pm and got a taxi to Liverpool airport where I met Elaine, we were so excited, it was great. We checked in and went through security, Elaine was laughing her socks off because I was frisked and then had my bag checked and swabbed for drugs. We bought a bottle of Baileys to share at the airport lounge while we waited boarding to wait boarding. Our flight was on time and without problems, I had a sleep, we’d bought neck pillows, the difference that made for comfort was great, wish I’d got one before. We had a taxi bus transfer to take us from the airport to our hotel which was great except I had some bloke snorting like a pig all the way, he was gross and made me feel sick, how his wife put up with that, I’d have to smack him, yuk……… We arrived at the hotel about 8:30pm, in time for dinner, we thought the food ok and plenty of choice, I was so thirsty more than anything. After dinner we went to our room, we were very pleased, it was lovely and spacious. We went to find a shop to buy some drinks, we found a garage so Elaine got some wine and I got vodka and went back to our room. We had a couple of drinks and chatted for a while, it was lovely and so peaceful, with no skanky neighbours, bliss

Thursday) We slept ’til about 8am and went down for breakfast about 8:30, which consisted of the usual bacon, sausage, eggs etc, creal and salads and fruit. After breakfast we went outside to the pool area it was sunny but the wind was cold, I was worried we were going to be cold. Thankfully it warmed up later so we could stay by the pool, the beach is right in front, we just had to open a gate go down a few steps and we were on it, I was very pleased about that. I am happy too because Elaine is over the moon with everything. Dinner was lovely, I had chicken and mixed rice, in the night we went to Linekers bar, it was great and only round the corner from where we were staying,

Friday) I woke with a bit of hangover, I had no idea what time we came home, don’t really care, Elaine said it was about 4/5am. We went for breakfast then as it’s still cold in the morning went back to bed for a couple hours. We had a couple hours on the beach in the afternoon, I was so glad we right on the beach. Then got ready to go for our evening meal, we were very excited as to what was going to be on the menu and we weren’t disappointed. I had asparagus soup, there was beef, pork, fish, garlic cauliflower and potatoes. In the evening we went to a very nice bar on the beach it was raining a little so we went back to the hotel for an umbrella, which they lent us, then had another all nighter at Linekers.

Saturday) We got up for breakfast then went back to bed for a sleep, in the afternoon we went to the beach, Elaine’s not so keen, she can’t get comfy, I love it and can sleep anywhere. Dinner was lovely again, paella, garlic chicken, pork kebabs, and the usual array of sweets and fruit, I stuck more to the ice cream, I found it more refreshing.  After dinner we went up the West end, we had a few drinks in a fun pub, then the Irish bar opposite then finished off at Linekers.

Sunday) We missed breakfast, didn’t wake ’til 11am so went to a bar across the road, We stayed by the pool today. Dinner I had some soup, pork and salmon, but I didn’t enjoy too much because my stomach was a bit jippy. This has happened on my last few holidays, I’m ok for a few days then I feel ill for a few days, it’s very annoying and depressing. In the evening we went up the west end again, we dodged the fun pub and slid into the irish bar a scottish bar, then went to Itacar which was next to Linekers.

Monday) We got up in time for breakfast, it was a cloudy morning, my stomach was feeling really bad so went back to bed ’til 2:30pm. Couldn’t believe how hot it had gone, we went for a snack, Elaine wanted to shop for souvenirs I’d rather have been sunbathing and shopped in the evening. We had a quiet night at Linekers, not many people out so we had an early night, about 1am and I felt better for it.

Tuesday) Enjoyed my breakfast, my stomach feels better today thankfully. Enjoyed all day on the beach, I even had a swim, the sea was freezing but exhilarating, made my body feel really alive, I loved it and had missed so much. Dinner I had pork and saute potatoes. Linekers was quiet again, Elaine didn’t feel so good so we only had a couple of drinks and took some fries back to our room. We had to be ready to pack and vacate the room by 12 the next day.

Wednesday) We went for breakfast then got our cases ready to leave in the luggage room. Elaine went for a wander and I sunbathed by the pool for a few hours, then showered and got ready to go eat, we had a nice steak and fries at nice bar up the west end. The weather has got really hot now this last couple of days  I wish we had another week. Our taxi transfer to the airport was late, the flight was delayed 3 hours because of the volcanish. We had a nice meal at the airport and shared a bottle of Baileys. Once we were in the air the flight was good, Elaines husband picked us up about 1:30am so it was about 1:45am when I got home, unfortunately I had to be up at 6am, unfortunately the goons in the flat below me were up and arguing, I shouldn’t have been surprised, I think it was about 3:30am when I got to sleep so I was shattered when the alarm went off for work…..

June 27th, 2010 New Laptop

The display on the monitor of my last laptop broke, I couldn’t see anything, it was awful. I thought it could be repaired but the cost was nearly as much as a new one, that was ridiculous. So I was without for a few weeks, my brother asked around to see what was the best to go for, this time I got one from Amazon and only had to wait a couple of days for delivery.

So now it’s catch up time again on what’s been happening …………….

May 3rd, 2010 Easter Weekend xx

Friday afternoon my niece Ashleigh came with her boyfriend Mike, they got the ferry over and then cycled from the Pier Head to the Brittannia, unfortunately it rained so the got soaked poor loves. We had a carvery which was very nice, unfortunately they had to leave soon after to get the ferry back.

In the evening my friend Elaine came for tea and a few drinks. We had a blast playing tunes, chatting and drinking and most of all the best the trolls weren’t home.

Saturday, Sunday, Monday was great just chilling no work :)

I went after to work reception after my morning job Wednesday afternoon. Saturday and Sunday it was my turn for overtime in the LRC.

On Monday 12th I went for my hospital check up, I feel a lot better getting some issues resolved.

Claire came to see me from the housing Tuesday afternoon, the evening I had to put up with the trolls rowdy behaviour and graced with his singing and twanging on the guitar.

On Saturday it was my turn for overtime in Holmfield. I was looking forward after working the last 2 weekends to a sleep in but it wasn’t to be, the goon below was in and out like a blue assed fly banging and slamming the doors as he went.

I worked reception Wednesday afternoon to cover while Elaine was on a course.

April 17th, 2010 Playing Catch Up xx

After what seems to have been a long, stressful winter I’m playing catch up again . . . . . . . . .

January was a horrible month with the neighbours from hell, the last week in particular I had to put up with them every night it was awful. They didn’t seem to be around much in February, I’m assuming by one of the arguments that there was a problem with a male relative, maybe her dad, all i can say is for me it was blissful relief.

In February I also had my nieces 18th birthday, she wasn’t having a party though so my sister arranged for everyone to meet for a meal at the central hotel. I enjoyed a steak the only down side was that I had to leave early to get the train home so I couldn’t really relax.

On tuesday 16th and wednesday 17th March I had to call the police again because of the fighting and shouting going on from them below again. It’s beyond a joke and beyond me and I’m sick to the back teeth of it. I later learned he’d been arrested on the tuesday/wednesday morning so couldn’t believe they’d fought again on the wednesday evening, mind you nothing from them should surprise me.

March 30th I was awarded an injunction against him and anyone else he allows to do anything toward me. I went out with my friend Elaine for lunch and a few drinks, we had the steak with a peppercorn sauce. Elaines mum and dad came a little after, she’d arranged to meet them, her dad very kindly paid for our meal. Her mum and dad went home about 3pm, Elaine and me were going to go shopping but we’d had too much to drink to go  so we stayed in the pub ;D . . . . . . We left about 8pm and had some fish & chips then got a taxi home to mine. Elaines husband came for her about 10:30/11pm. We had a great day/ night :D
